Dog Allergy Symptoms, What are They?

Allergies are becoming more and more common with people and dogs, particularly food and scent allergies. What are some clues your dog could be allergic to something?

Common dog allergy symptoms can include:

Itchy, red, moist or scabs on the skin Increased scratching Ear infection Itchy, watery eyes Itchy back or base of tail (most often this is a flea allergy) Itchy ears & ear infections Sneezing Vomiting Diarrhea Snoring caused by a swollen throat Paw biting/licking/swollen paws Rubbing the face Incessant licking

The worst of these dog symptoms is scratching, because an animal can scratch himself raw, which can possibly lead to secondary infections, excessive shedding, and loss of hair.

Is your dogs allergies seasonal or do the symptoms for your dog seem to happen year long? If the symptoms are all year round, one method you can try is to swap out your dog’s food. The most common symptoms for dog food allergies are licking, itchiness, and different types of skin issues.

Have you made a recent change in your dogs routine since the allergy problems started? You may need to sort through the above allergy list one by one and try to make changes until you have narrowed down the cause.

Remember, even though your dog might have the above issues, he may not have allergies. He may be suffering from any number of other medical conditions, such as fleas, worms, or hormonal disorders. Check with your veterinarian to be safe.

My Dog Isn’t Eating

Worried because your puppy isn’t gobbling up his favorite dish like you’re used to? I know if my dog ever stopped eating, it would be a sure signal something could be wrong. Right now she tap dances on her back legs with joy as we transport her scoop of chow from its container to her bowl. Then she gobbles it up like its about to vanish then right away begins begging again.

While a loss of appetite can indicate illness, it doesn’t all the time. It could be a cause for concern. Following are some potential causes why your dog isn’t eating like he normally does.

Illness. If your dog isn’t eating the amount it usually does it is often a sign of sickness. Appetite loss in dogs is typically accompanied by other symptoms simultaneously. Early veterinary attention is important because it could be a sign of major sickness, possibly including cancer, infections, dental disease, pain, liver problems, and kidney failure. If you’re worried your dog’s loss of appetite may be due to illness, read up on some of our additional articles on the possible illnesses connected with your dogs loss of appetite.

New vaccination. Dog vaccinations can sometimes have negative side effects. This can consist of a short term loss of appetite in dogs.

Travel and strange environment. If your dog’s hunger level was normal until you took him on a trip or moved to a new house, it could be that your dog won’t eat because of traveling or the unusual settings. This is actually pretty common. Our dog is quite opposed to any routine change such as this, and it can take her quite a bit of time to get settled when visiting a new place. A few animals may get motion sickness, and others get nervous or unsettled in new places.

Pickiness or conduct issues. Our dog loves to eat, but there is a certain flavor of food she just won’t eat. It was quite hilarious observing her eat it then spit it back out considering some of the other strange objects shes consumed that she wasn’t supposed to. Some dogs are just picky eaters, so you may just need to try a different food. Another explanation for why they may have stopped eating is because they’re being fed in situations where they aren’t comfortable, such as near an aggressive dog or from a bowl at too low or too high of height level.

Due to the fact that your dog’s loss of appetite may be caused by illness, don’t delay to have it looked into. If you don’t believe any of the above seem like it could be the cause, and your dog is in agony or becoming sicker or weaker from not getting enough food, visit your vet right away.

4 Tips To Make Your Baby Sleep Well !

It is always crucial that you inculcate good sleeping practice in your infant. New-born toddlers take a nap a lot. However more often than not never up to more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. So imagine the countless disruptions and disturbance you can get in just one nighttime. You will never get an adequate amount of sleep.

Though it is more expected that you will have to endure sleep interruptions for the initial few months, it is at all times good to attempt and initiate training your baby good sleeping practice from the birth.

Here are several 4 suggestions that will aid your newborn sleep well at night:

* The baby must be entitled to his/her own sleeping space. Having his/her own bed in a quiet room is recommended, and it is best if you can have the baby sleep in his/her own cot as soon as possible.

* Babies should not be awake any longer than 2 hours at a time until they get to eight months. Scientific studies have revealed that the more time toddlers sleep, the more they will want to sleep and the simpler they will fall asleep.

* Teach your baby to differentiate nighttime and day. During the day, keep the infant more active. When night comes, make the baby keep calm and relaxed. This can be achieved easily by being more calm in the home or play a few soothing soft newborn music. It is recommended that bedtimes should be between 6pm-8pm.

* When your baby is about 6-8 weeks old, allow him/her to fall asleep on his/her own. Place him/her in the crib when he/she is tired and sleepy, but is still awake. If you rock your baby to sleep, he/she will be expecting the same the next time he/she sleeps.
That is not a very good habit to pick up. On the other hand, the same goes for sleeping on his/her own. If you place them to sleep alone, they will expect that as well. Now that is a good habit to cultivate.

Remember, pampering your baby can impress both good and bad outcome to your infant. So be mindful of what you do.

In conclusion, following these tips will make life easier in the long run for both you and your baby.
